We are located in the Birch Elementary service area. We provide transportation to a Snake River Elementary and Idaho Arts Charter bus stops for $1 each way. We may consider transportation to other schools depending on our schedule, please contact us to discuss your situation.

If you decide to use a drop-in slot you need to pay your fees daily; when you drop-off your child. Drop-ins will be on a space-permitting basis; enrolled children take priority.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE:
We are CLOSED on the following holidays-you are NOT charged for these: Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day. In addition we reserve the right to close due to low attendance on the following days: Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, the day after Thanksgiving.

AGES WE SERVE:
We provide care for 2-12 year olds. If your child is still in diapers-please provide diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes-please mark all diaper bags with your child's name. You may also want to provide extra clothes if you are in the potty-training process-please mark all change of clothes with your child's name. We ask that all children over three be potty trained, unless there is a particular reason. If you have a special circumstance regarding potty training please talk to our staff. Under some conditions we may be able to help in this area.

MEALS:
We serve breakfast until 8:30 AM and lunch at 11:45 AM. We serve up to three snacks daily; at 3:00, 5:30, and occasionally 10:00 AM (depending on the need).

We offer preschool for 3-5 year olds.

Cornerstone strives to provide the best possible care for your child. We will provide a loving, safe, and educational environment for your child. We encourage structured as well as free play to encourage your child's development, self-esteem, and confidence.

We provide preschool for 4 & 5 year olds and structured activities for 2-5 year olds. We also spend part of every day outside with the exception of poor weather. Please dress your children appropriately for outdoor play. If your child is well enough to attend daycare, we feel they are well enough to go outside; staff is not available to stay inside with individual children so please don't ask that they stay inside.

We are a Christian based childcare center; we do not teach doctrine or any denominations. We do pray before meals and may watch bible story videos or read non-denominational bible stories. We preview all of our videos and books (whether bible/Christian based or not) and invite you to do the same.

Mission Statement

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED:
Due to choking hazards: no toys with tiny or sharp pieces, no gum, no candy, no money, and no coins. Staff will confiscate any items of this nature if found.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS:
We welcome all suggestions, concerns, and visits. Please discuss any questions or concerns you may have with your child's teacher. We have an 'open-door' policy and you are welcome to visit your child anytime during the day. If you have a specific problem you would like to discuss please call your child's teacher/daycare provider ahead of time so they may be able to meet with you at a mutually convenient time. Also you may meet with the owner's (Mark or Lisa Tuohy) anytime that you have a concern that you feel has not been appropriately addressed by staff.

Policies and Procedures

We have complied with all Idaho State Laws regarding childcare; including complete criminal background check, infant and child CPR and First Aid, and Health Department and Fire Department checks of this facility.

Our Staff also must obtain complete criminal history background check, police clearance, CPR and First Aid, and yearly license credit training hours.

There will be no punishment of children in association with food, rest, or toilet training. Parents will be informed if their child is having behavioral problems. Staff will make every effort to work out any problems that may arise, however, parents may be asked to remove their child from this center if behavioral problems persist that can't be handled in the best interest/safety of the child or other children in the facility.

'Cornerstone' has an open-enrollment policy. Children are admitted to our program as space permits without regard to race, religion, national origin, sex, or handicap (All participants must be able to follow all program guidelines).

Currently (as of 1/1/09) enrollment fees are as follows:

   $50 enrollment fee (non-refundable)
   $20 per day, full-time enrollment (5+ hours a day & potty trained)
   $24 per day, if not fully potty trained (in diapers or pull-ups)
   $15 daily for before/after school care (Kindergarten pays full-day) or $4.00/hour if
      ONLY before or ONLY after school care needed also for drop-ins.
   $20 for vacation days (if child is normally before/after school care)

ICCP- We are licensed by the State of Idaho as state funded care providers. We are willing to work with you and can fax your paperwork to your case worker, please bring in your dependant care form from the state when you register your child. You will need to pay your co-payments in full by the 15th of the month or half by the 1st and the remainder by the 15th.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
We welcome parents to bring in special snacks for birthdays and/or contribute to holiday parties. All goodies must be store-bought (as to cut-down on any food illnesses). We observe the following holidays: Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Halloween (please have your child wear tasteful costumes as we have small children here), and Thanksgiving. We also may celebrate to a lesser degree: Labor Day, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, Martin Luther King Day, and President's Day.

TOYS:
We ask that you not allow your child to bring any 'violent' toys to Cornerstone: play guns, fighting toys, any toy that encourages violent or fighting behavior. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen toys-we encourage you to not let your child bring toys with the exception of a sleep toy for naptime. Staff reserves the right to take away any toy that may be causing 'sharing' or 'arguing' problems amongst children.
